‘The Journey of Reconciliation’
This Thursday, January 17th, will be Moscrop’s Fourth Annual Truth and Reconciliation Event for all grade 10 students.
The purpose of this day is formally acknowledge that we are living, learning and teaching on unceded territories here at Moscrop Secondary.
We would like to celebrate the music, dance and art of indigenous communities, have our students participate in a number of workshops on equity and social justice issues, and explore the specific ways that non-Indigenous people can act as allies in the reconciliation process.
We will be welcoming Elders and Aboriginal leaders from several nations including the Squamish, Tseil-Wa-Tuth, and Stó:lō, Metis, Cree, Haida Tsimshian
This is a very exciting day for us, and we encourage students and community members to help support the work we are doing at Moscrop to uphold the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Recommendations.
